Michael Patterson, originally from Southern California, is currently a student at Washington Adventist University in Maryland.  As a pianist, Michael has participated in and has won numerous competitions, including the Inland Empire Piano Festival, International Institute for Young Musicians, and the Redlands Symphony Youth Artist Showcase.  Most recently, Michael was featured as a concerto soloist with the New England Symphonic Ensemble throughout the orchestra's 2009 European summer tour.  Michael is also an active conductor as well as oboe/English horn player.  Michael has composed and arranged a broad range of pieces for brass quintet, string quartet, solo violin, and solo piano.  He is currently working on a four-movement symphony.
